Social isolation and stress contributes to the susceptibility of cancer, according to research unveiled by scientists at the University of Chicago in an animal model. Experiment results are published today in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and provide an estimated: the probability of developing breast cancer rise by more than three times those environmental factors.

The study is the first to establish the isolation and stress as a possible risk factor for human breast cancer, according to lead author Martha McClintock, a psychologist at the University of Chicago. Scientists investigating this association finding that many women in violent neighborhoods and with some degree of social isolation suffer before breast tumors, although in the same proportion as women in other walks of life.

“You have to look at the problem [of cancer] from several perspectives, including the sources of stress in communities, and biological aspects of tumor development,” stresses McClintock. In fact, this work is part of a series of studies at the University of Chicago to explore the connection between social isolation and the biology of breast cancer.

The work has found that isolation increases the production of corticosterone in rats that were kept alone and subjected to stressful situations, for example, make them smell a predator. The authors also suggest a causal relationship between social interaction and disease, derived from live only generates higher levels of stress hormones in rats, from the earliest stages of life, making them more scary, anxious and prone to malignancies in the age adult.

The hormone receptor was observed in the nucleus of tumor cells isolated from rats, which was found less frequently in non-isolated rats. The experience of isolation was a 135 percent increase in the number of tumors and more than 8,000 per cent increase in its size. The impact of loneliness was much higher than that of other environmental source of tumor formation, such as unlimited calorie food.

Part of relieving stress is the result of more oxygen in your bloodstream breathing exercises. Oxygen helps the body rid itself of toxins.

Yoga is also a great exercise if you have joint injuries. The facility extends financial help to make up the joints and increase flexibility. The support also extends to build muscle strength to maintain their balance in the various yoga poses.

Note, the first time you start using yoga exercises, you have to start slow and easy. Remember, the teacher has been practicing yoga for years and has much more flexibility to do so. The headache is a manifestation of a reversible condition of the nervous system caused by a chemical alteration of brain energy. This alteration, in most cases is functional, not organic.

Serotonin is a substance found in the whole head, and is closely related to almost all headaches, and regulates vital functions such as sleep cycles, hunger, mood and pain transmission.

The headache is the body’s response to stress and emotional pressure. A typical headache of tension occurs on both sides of the head and may worsen because of noise or a congested environment. The pain may be beating but is generally feels constant and above the eyes or more generally on the head. Pressure can also be felt behind the eye muscles and neck feels tight.

The following recommendations can help relieve a headache or migraine:

Food allergies or intolerances are believed to be a major cause of migraines. Migraine meaning “half head”, so that means a severe headache that usually occurs only in half of the head and face. Common foods that most people develop allergies are eggs, milk products, nuts, wheat, chocolate and citrus fruits such as oranges. Try to avoid eating these foods if given to an allergic reaction, which can also cause a headache or migraine that do not feel like a cow’s head.

Migraines can also be caused by a biochemical reaction to tyramine, found in old cheeses, chocolates, ripe bananas, sour cream, fermented beans, processed meats and alcoholic beverages.

When the body can not produce histamine, a hormone to control infections, this can cause a migraine. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) can help the body to process histamine. A dose of 50 milligrams per day is recommended.

For chronic migraine, take 400 mg of vitamin B2 (riboflavin). It has been shown to be effective in reducing the frequency and severity of migraine attacks.

Those most susceptible to migraines are deficient in magnesium. A dose of 400 milligrams per day is recommended that you do not feel like a cow’s head.

The supplement 5-HTP increases serotonin, a neurotransmitter that acts as a mild sedative and has a calming effect. A dose of 100 milligrams taken 3 times per day (without food) is recommended. Check with your doctor if you take antidepressants.

Ginger also relieves pain because it relaxes blood vessels in the head and reduces nausea. For small headache, drink one to two cups of ginger tea (or tea bag made from fresh ginger root) every hour. Or take 500 to 1,000 milligrams of ginger powder every three to four hours a day, fasting.

Peppermint oil is also effective for relieving headache. Rub the oil into the affected area every 15 to 30 minutes until the pain goes away. Avoid eye area.

Recent research suggests that stress may activate immune cells in the skin, causing or accentuating inflammatory skin diseases, according to research from the University of Medicine Berlin published by the magazine “American Journal of Patology.

According to these studies, stress can trigger flares in patients suffering from inflammatory skin diseases. So far, studies had determined that the perception of stress is measured through the relationship between skin and brain. However, little was known about the means by which stress aggravates skin diseases.

In this connection, researchers led by Dr. Petra Arck of the University of Medicine Berlin and McMaster University Canada, hypothesized that stress can tighten skin diseases by increasing the number of immune cells.

By testing this hypothesis in mice exposed to high levels of stress, Dr. Arck found that this stress resulted in a greater number of white blood cells on the skin. In addition, stress activated immune cells, which are essential in starting and perpetuating skin diseases.

Future studies of the research group of Dr. Arck will focus on how to avoid this stress by recognizing individuals at risk and identifying immune cells suitable subjects for therapeutic interventions.
